A perfect hideout

Sanya Lime tells:

My childhood was… well, not the best possible.

I wouldn’t even like to remember so much of it.

Shortly, my parents were drunk brawlers and their ways of parenting were tyrannical.

They liked to lock me into places and stuff like that…

…and my mean big sister never moved a finger to help me out. In fact she was a lot like my parents and just enjoyed bullying me.

But as time went by, I became more furious than sad…

And I learned to find out ways to escape their traps.

Those escapes didn’t always end well, though…

That’s when my dad turned angrier than ever…

But here I am now, in Emerald Harbour – I have escaped for good and I’ll never look back!

The ones that I can thank for my new, cozy home here far away from everything are the Sastira siblings – Diamanda, Dennis and Dave.

We met in school, back then when I was a child and they were still teenagers. None of my classmates really liked me – and I neither liked them. But those older “bad kids” soon took me as their “pet”. They probably sensed that I shared the same bitter and rebellious spirit with them, even if I was quite shy at that time and not really a troublemaker.

I became better and better friends with the Sastiras. They were all kleptomaniacs, and already into little crimes like snitching stuff from school and their neighbours. I soon learned the same tricks, and when I grew up to a teen, I naturally became a kleptomaniac too.

The reason why we actually moved here in Emerald Harbour, and why we could afford such a nice house, is our heist to the jewelry shop.

Yeah, one day Diamanda – who is the oldest of us and also the most determined – said that she had enough of petty thefts, and that we’d need to do something bigger that would really benefit us.

We started to plan our big heist very carefully. It seemed that we would make a quite perfect team – Diamanda as an ambitious computer whiz was like the brains of our mob, there was use for Dennises sportiness and his ability to distract people by flirting, and the little brother Dave who is a lucky daredevil was definitely usefull. Even my skills to burgle my way out of locked places turned out worthwhile!

Well, during a heist unexpected things always occur, but all in all it was a great success! Until we later started to think, that we probably still had left some dangerous tracks behind us…

Then I pointed out that I had wanted to run away from home for a long time ANYWAY, and that sealed our decision to “disappear”.

Emerald Harbour, a “new” little town far away, where no-one really knew each other, sounded as a perfect hideout for us! Besides Dennis had heard rumours of a guy called Skeezix McGruber, who could possibly offer us work of our own “career” when we would run out of money.

Tired of the moving we all went to bed early in the evening. I fell asleep with a peacefull mind, happier than for ages… but then I had nightmares about getting a decent job! Blah, I guess that criminality is the only choice for me!

Diamanda for one was dreaming about taking over the world! She certainly would make a good criminal mastermind.

Because of going to sleep so early I woke up already at 5 AM the next morning…

…and started my day by watching the horror channel. Oh yeah, I love horror movies!

Erm… except… when they get too scary… This time I was so frightened, that I eventually had to shut down the TV.

Right after that Diamanda sneaked behind me and nearly scared me to death! Hey, thanks A LOT!

But maybe I should just get used to Diamanda’s ways of saying “good morning”…

Aww, that’s really sad! At least, she has some people to hang out with, but they’re evil! I love how Diamanda looks, she looks so awesome!! I love her hair! The ending is sooo funny, the ”But maybe I should just get used to Diamanda’s ways of saying good morning” part made me laugh.

    Good post Kansine!

I really like your writing style, its not generic and extremly long and tedious like a lot of blog posts I read, you get to the point and I really enjoy reading your articles! Oh, and merry Christmas!
